Hello,
In chapter 2 (Beginning Dreamweaver MX) we create a table with 1 row and 3 cells. The left hand cell is set to 20%.
As instructed I then set the background image (sidebkg.gif) using the point to file tool and set the vertical alignment to TOP.
The next instruction is the one giving me problems. It says to change the width of the cell from 20% to 257. When I do this it extends the length of the cell but there is now a white space on the right hand side of the cell where the cell is wider than the background image (sidebkg.gif). Basically the image is smaller than the cell and doesn't stretch. From the description and screenshot in the book it seems as though the whole cell should be red (filled with the background image).
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jason,
I don't have the book right here, so I can't check the exact steps.
However, I looked at the sample files, and the sidebkg.gif image has more that just a red background. Basically, it's half red and half white. Does that explain the behavior you're seeing?

Thanks for your reply. I think that may have been the issue (I thought it would be something obvious!!) It didn't look like it did in the screen shot in the book but it turned out the same in the end.
Thanks for the help.
