Subject: apache and asp//asp.net

I"m am having trouble configuring apache to serve asp codes. i"ve tried a number of online tutorials and failed. anyone have ideas or a method to serve asp on apache ....oh yeah i forgot to mention .....just to make this easier, i'm installing this on WINXP not linux......

the point i"m at right now is:

May I ask, why would you want to do this?  What is Apache going to do that IIS doesnt?  Do you want to run PHP on windows maybe?  If so look into www.sokkit.net -  a great tool that works very well.

my plan?...more or less my problem ....

i have windows xp, not pro ....no IIS
i would rather use apache and not cassini or web matrix....no real reason other than a challenge and a chance to spk w/ othr dvlprs....
on wrox forums....

any ideas on how to run asp on apache...?

No.  Even though square pegs arnt made for round holes, they can be forced to fit.  Good luck and sorry I couldnt help

Sometimes there is a bandsaw to help those square pegs get into the circle holes, just wondering if anyone had ideas.

Yes indeed that would make it fit.  This is a stab in the dark but I think the fact you are using XP Home and not Pro will give you problems.  These tutorials you found, did they say the home version could run Apache? or did they say XP could run Apache?

i am running apache on xp home, it works fine for serving client side scripts but -of course- would rather run server side scripts...at the time of this post,i'm in washington. My home(where my server is) is in minnesota so i have to wait untill 7/9/5 to test these ideas but thanks for the help andi will update this with my findings ....
