Hello
I am a beginner in Oracle .......i installed oracle 8i on win xp(pentium-3,128 MB ram)...now when i try to log in(username:scott and password:tiger) , it displays the following error:-
ORA-12560: TNS protocol adapter error
please help me in how to remove this error!!!i will be very thankful to you.

check you have properly installed network card
check whether tcp/ip is proper.
check whether listener service is started successfully.
