Subject: Red Hat Linux installation on ATA disk
Posted By: turrinil Post Date: 10/5/2005 5:29:05 AM
Hi guys,

I'm new to the Linux world and attempting the installation of Red Hat 9 (the disks provided with your book Beginning Red Hat 9) on my pc I had my first problem just after the first screenshot :(

The installer doesn't find my disk because is a ATA one and it doesn't have the driver of the device to load. In the screen that allows me to do load the driver I can't find one for my INTEL 82801EB. What should I do?

I'm currently running XP with no problem and I need to install Red Hat as in one month time I'm gonna start a project with Red Hat as platform.

thanks for your help
kind regards
Luca

Hi,

If nobody does, I'll reply to myself. :)

My problem was due to the ATA configuration in the BIOS.

So, the case it's closed... or at least for now ;)

Ciao
Luca
