Hi all - hope someone could answer this for me.
I have Dreamweaver 8 software but have the Wrox Dreamweaver MX 2004 book - the biggest change I've read I'll find is with CSS - what I would like to know is if it would be better to use Dreamweaver MX 2004 software to get a better grasp on it. I'm completely ignorant on Dreamweaver so I'm not sure which way to lean. I'm actually basing the decision on the book I can use - having taken a look at Wrox Dreamweaver MX book, I don't want to use a different author/publisher. I don't know if the MX 2004 book is going to be so different than the layout/features of DW 8 or if it would still be easy to follow. Any suggestions?

Hi
I have worked with Wrox Dreamweaver MX 2004 book using MX 2004. The support you will get in this forum is the best you can get. And I have tried others. Therefore if you are starting I would strongly suggest that you use Wrox Dreamweaver MX 2004 book.
I have seen some chat which seems to suggest that Imar is writing a new book which may be for version 8. If so I shall be at the printers to get a copy as I would assume that the same support will follow.

Yes it does. I had a chance to sit down and work a little with 8 last night and the differences are enough to make it somewhat confusing; I'll round up 2004 MX software and go from there. Thanks!

Hi Vukovar,
If you have MX 2004, I suggest you follow along with that version. You'll find it much easier to work with the same version of Dreamweaver. The knowledge you gain about MX 2004 is easily transferable to 8 once you're done with the book, so you definitely won't waste your time on it.
Jacky: Sorry, no, no new Dreamweaver 8 book. My new book is about ASP.NET 2.0 and Visual Web Developer. There are no plans for a Beginning Dreamweaver 8 book that I am aware of....

That's working much better, no question. The changes in 8 are enough to have you spending more time hunting things down - mainly menus and options being in different places than what the book references. Many thanks!

Just a quick note - I can't thank you and the other authors enough for writing the Dreamweaver book - it's an excellent guide, well written, easy to follow, and lets someone who knows nothing about Dreamweaver create some excellent sites. There's that small matter of the amount of coffee I'm consuming so I can stay awake and work through the book in the wee hours - but I can live with that. :)
