Hi guys
Please can someone assist me. I am trying to connect to an oracle database. I have sql 2000 installed on the server. I have also installed Oracle 8i Client. Using net assistant i have successfully created and tested the initial connection. I have even query oracle using sql plus. But when i try create a linked server connection in SQL 2000 Enterprise Manager. I get a Error 7399 saying that "OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA'reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error" Can someone please tell me the Provider string to use. Mines is currently Oracle 8.0.
