php.ini problem

I installed Apache2 and php5 in windows xp.
i modified my php.ini, for example, extension_dir="C:\php5\ext". But in phpinfo(), it displayed as extension_dir="C:\php5".
Another problem is, instead of C:\php5 where php.ini located, in phpinfo(), it says Configuration File (php.ini) Path C:\WINDOWS.
I copy my php.ini to C:\WINDOWS and the problem is still where.
my mysql extention is not enabled.
