How different is Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 from the Express version and is there a book specifically written for the Express version?

The book for the express edition is:
http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTitle/productCd-0764595733.html

The book includes a copy of the Express Edition software on CD-ROM.

The Express Edition software is the same enough that it is a good tool to start your learning on and if you move up to a professional programming position using VB, your skills will transfer well. The Express Edition has a few extra tools to help get you started easier without previous experience. The Express Edition drops a few enterprise-level features that you wouldn't need on a standalone basis.

One of the things you cannot do with Express edition is to create mobile applications (Pocket PC).

Also VB (FULL) has VWD built in, where as the express edition does not and you would have to use vwdExpress.
