How to view the remote file structure on ur machin

hi all,
i need help on wirting the code for getting the file system view of remote machine ( any OS and if particular it's Linux). I basically need a GUI which should take the IP of the remote machine and display the file structure of that machine on my local machine. ( a kind of JFileChooser is required which works on remote host preferably using RMI). i was going through the various topics in the forum and found one related to my problem however dated a long back belonging to David Throne. SO ,as yet, if anybody including him has been avle to find out the solution to the problem please help me!!!
