Subject: Unable to open ebook due to DRM Error
Posted By: abel714 Post Date: 9/2/2006 6:57:17 PM
Hi,

I had to rebuild my system just recently, and when I go to open my ebook that I purchased, I am prompted to obtain ownership.

I have already activated my Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 because my school I attend is online, and those books are encrypted as well, so the software is already activated.

However, I keep getting prompted to re-activate this book, even though I've activated it already, and I am able to open my other books that have been activated; this seems to be the only book that I am unable to open that's encrypted.

Please advise.
Thanks

I found my receipt and re-downloaded it.  However, that DRM thing is a pain.  Is there a way to unlock it or at the very least, make it so I don't have to go through so much just to get it open?  I did purchase my own copy, but it feels like just because I use a different computer (as I do have multiple computers, and I'm not always at the same one when I'm building my apps).

I realize you have to protect your living that you make, but Adobe really hasn't appeared to have made much of an effort to improve on this DRM thing, and I've read over the net that many others share my frustration, and Adobe hasn yet to respond with a solution to such a situation.

Anyway, I am loathing the day that my download won't be available any longer from the site where I purchased this book, and if I ever do rebuild my system again, I definitely won't be able to open it, and will continue to get that error that I got.

Is there a solution to circumvent this issue?  I activated my software already, and the issue seemed to be just with this document in particular, so I know it's not an activation issue.
