Hi all:
I apologize if this topic was already posted, but i couldn't seem to find it. Basically, I am running XP Home, SP2, and I tried to follow the installation instructions described in the Book on page 661.
I am running into a problem however, when I start my computer in safe mode. The book claims that I should see a security tab when I right click on App_data and choose properties, however, there is none. There is only General/Sharing/Customize, which are the same options that are available in normal mode.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Wow, thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately, it doesn't solve the problem. When I go to the window you mention, I don't have the option use simple file sharing. The last option in the list is "Show pop-up description..." Another note is that my hard drive is conifgured as FAT32
Do I need to have an NTFS file system to configure this properly?

Yes, you do. The Security Settings only work with NTFS, as FAT32 is essentially an unprotected file system,
However, at the same time that also means you don't have to change anything right now. Because the web server will be able to write to your disk (as it's unprotected) you don't have the security problem in the first place.
Obviously, using NTFS is much more secure, so it's usually recommended....
