Subject: Brilliant idea, no idea how!
Posted By: imaginitive-idea-guy Post Date: 1/13/2007 10:14:25 AM
I've had a great idea but i've no idea how to go about it . Here's the idea 'you set your birthday, music preferences, hobbies etc. and when you go online a window appears with a miniature boy/girl figure wich you give clothes + hairstyle. then u surf as usual and each time u go on a page a list of others with a mini person comes up. you click on a name, their mini person comes up (if they accept) and u talk, dance, watch T.V or watever' I can't program for my life so maybe loads of you can join up, it would be much appreciated. this is the tenth programming forum site I've been to so I'm running out of options!!

I fail to see how this is brilliant. What's the point of this?

I think you better take a look at www.secondlife.com .... ;-)

Well, for a start, make new friends+chat with existing ones. architects and designers could discuss plans, the list goes on

You really think that architects and designers like to discuss through a dressed up avatar on a web site?????

You have an interesting look at things... ;-)

Hey it's clippy.  Where's my flyswatter?

At any rate I don't really see how this relates to AJAX, the topic of this forum.

Regards,
Rich

Sure....

But seriously, I am not sure what you want, and I am not sure why you want it. I do know that you are probably taking the wrong route to it.

If *you* think it's a great idea, then you should invest in it. Make the time for it, and gain the skills a project like this requires. You're on a publisher's web site, so there are plenty of books to look at....

I think this is quite disrespectful to other people's time. If you're not even willing to spend 5 minutes to look for the proper forum, how come you expect others to help you with your "brilliant" plan?

I am sure this is not a serious post.  Why would anyone sit at their computer and interact with little images when they could go to a real life club or coffee house and talk to or even dance with other real people?  It is absurd.

Of course, that idea has been repeated all over the internet, and I am sure the original poster of this topic was just pulling our collective (albeit mini person) legs.

Well genius is said to be 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration so you're a hundredth of the way there.
