Virtual Maps And Templates problems

Hi,
I dont know I'm putting my question at a right place or not. Kindly let me know if it is not.
I've been working on the Microsoft virtual map services provided by one of our team. Now I use a javascript function to call the method which works as expected plain html or asp or php pages version. Now when I use it in a thrid party software which uses templates when I call the same function the map comes on to the top left of the browser while the div I allocated comes dark grey color.
Is this because of templates??Does microsoft virtual map has some limitations when using templates as google maps has??
