I have two environments: 1. XP Pro w/ SQL 2000. database restores BAK w/no problem
2. Windows 2000 w/ SQL7. database will not restore due to error: [SQL-DMO]You must be logged in as 'sa', or a member of sysadmin, or a member of dbcreator to perform this operation.
When I try to upgrade the password to sa, it advises me there is no login MYSERVER\Administrator. When clearly there is one shown as User in the User area.
I have been going around in circles. I need some help. Anyone? I know this is basic, and so am I, but I still need the help.
Thanks!!!

I am not restoring from a backup from the resident database.
I am trying to restore a CLIENTFILE.BAK to my new SQL server environment.
If I restore a db from a local backup, I am having the same problem.
What am I missing here?

Never mind. I simply exported the same info from the SQL 2000 I have on another server to the machine with SQL 7. Worked in 2 min.
I still don't understand why the restore from the external .BAK was such an issue with the 'sa' login.
