Default Homepage is empty

I've just deployed the Beerhouse Sample site on a share hosting.
I am having 2 problems:
1. The main content of the homepage is blank; does not display.
2. When registering new users, I get error message even when the password is longer than 8 characters and includes alphanumeric characters
