I am basically trying to dynamically create the legend of a graph, and it appears that Crystal Reports 9.0 does not allow any customization on the legend. This is my situation:

We basically have a system that runs live auctions on the web. My report has a bar graph that shows all bids made by each supplier. This report goes to top management so that they can evaluate the effectiveness of the auctions. Obviously, we need a legend that shows the colors of the bars together with the supplier names.

With that said, I have two problems:

- Given that different auctions have different suppliers, how do I set up the graph´s bars colors so that they will dynamically  change no matter what the supplier´s names are and no matter how many supplier participated in the auction?

Under Chart Expert -> Options -> Chart Color one can set conditions "If supplier name is this, set color to green, if supplier name is that, set color to blue and so on." But it does not seem those conditions can be set dynamically. Is there a way to do that?

- If I could accomplish the first item, that is, dynamically setting the colors of the bars, how do I customize the legend to match the bars colors? It does not seem that Crystal reports supports any customization on the legend at all. Is there a way to do that?
