Default Access 2007 Launch Form

Why can't I enter information into my form? I have imported an Excel spreadsheet into access which created my datasheet. Then I created my form using FormDesign and clicked on FormView to see my form. I can page down through my form and see the data from my datasheet and Excel spreadsheet but when I try to enter information into my form I get an error: The Recordset is Not Updateable Why is this? Thank you in advance for your help on this.
