Default Hiding Quicktime in Background

I am working on a Applescript that runs Quicktime. However, I would like to make Quicktime work in the background. Presently, it will call Quicktime and even if I hide it, it will pop up because the script is still using QT.

Is there a shell script that would make QT work in the background?

Thank you!
