access thread: Populating a text box with a form or table not loaded.

Hi,

I am putting together a simple contact management database and having

problems with displaying information from a form or table that has not been

currently loaded in the form. (I think this is how its explained)

For your information I am not a programmer and apart from a little

understanding of how forms etc hang together I have no experience in VB and

I'm self taught in Access - which is pretty limited - so I'm looking, if

possible, to do this through Access!!

E.g., I have a Client form based on a client table, with a contact form

based on the contact table triggered by a button, on the contact form the

client information is populated automatically i.e.. Client ID and Company

name. I than have a 'Calls' form which again is triggered by a button on

the contact form and the company and contact information is populated

automatically as with the previous form. On this form I have 2 fields the

REP_ID and the REP_NAME. The REP_ID is joined from a REP table to the Call

information table. What I would like to happen is firstly to double-click

on the REP_ID field and a list of Reps appear, maybe even filtered by a part

entry into the field, secondly click on the desired rep and that populates

the both fields REP_ID and REP_NAME. By the way the REP_ID field will

update the call information table and the REP_NAME field is just populated

from the REP table just for display.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks

Michelle
