access thread: mail hyperlink

I am learning how to create a mail hyperlink on a table. On the table,
under E-mail, I enter the following text: mailto:AileenG@m... as
a test msg. When I click the hyperlink, my Outlook gives a message that it
can not create the item. Would someone provide some answers or insight to
this problem? Thank you in advance.

Show me the code you're using to build the hyperlink.
If you are simply using the mailto: that you've shown below,
then your copy of Outlook is damaged. Re-install it.

I am simply using mailto. I'll try to reinstall Outlook.

I tried reinstalling, and the Outlook still does not work. I just have a column that is called
e-mail and edited the hyperlink by typing mailto:e-mailaddress. Any ideas?

Have you checked which program Internet Explorer is trying
to launch when you click on a MailTo link?
Goto to Internet Options from the Tools menu. Then choose
the Programs Tab. From there you can see which program
Internet Explorer sends Links to for email. Check it's the
right program - if not change it.
If this is not the problem, put a copy of a mailto link in
an email, and send it to me.

The program Internet Explorer launches is MS Outlook e-mail program. Would you e-mail your
e-mail address for me to e-mail you a copy of a mailto link? Your e-mail address is partially
shown on the screen. Please excuse my ignorance, how do I make and put a copy of a mailto
link in an e-mail? From the tools menu, I clicked on Mails and News/Send a link, it launches MS
Outlook. Is that what you mean? I greatly appreciate your help Craig.

Hi,
Just send some of your HTML/ASP code that shows where your
MailTo link is written. Copy it into an email, and mail it
to ckf@k...
