I have developed an application in Access 97 and want to distribute as a
runtime version, is there any way to make it run from the CD without having
to install it on the users PC?

It's worth a try, but I believe Access will want to create a locking file
(<dbname>.ldb) in the dir from which the .mdb is being accessed...

You need Office 97 or higer Developer's Edition to create a runtime version
of Access.

It will not run from a CD because an .ldb file must be created in the
directory where the database is located. Also, when you create a runtime
version, I believe certain dll's/ocx's must be written to the Windows/System
(Win9x) or the Winnt/System32 (WinNT/Win2000) directory of the computer.
