access thread: MS Access objects close without prompting to save when confirm changes is selected

Message #1 by "Tim Norton" <tttbsn@h...> on Fri, 10 Aug 2001 20:01:31
I have been using MS Access (all versions) for years now, and I have seen

this in all versions.

Under tools/Options/Edit-find, you have the option to confirm changes.

With this option selected I have seen Access close objects (forms,

reports) that have had changes made to them, and it will not prompt to

save the changes. At the same time, if you create a new query and don't

want to save it, it will force you to save the query.

The only way to stop this from happening is to close the database and re-

open. Today I have had to do this about a dozen times. I have tried to

repair and compact the database, and had the same occurance....

Anybody have any ideas? I have searched the Microsoft knowledge base for

this problem and any recommended fixes, and found nothing.

I hope somebody has some advice.

Thanks for the help,

Tim
