Hi All,
I have an Access database sitting on top of a Novell server. Five of us
have admin permissions, the rest that use it are Read/Write only. I am not
able to make changes to the DB, and I think the whitepaper at MS pointed
to the fact that the Novell server might be the culprit.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

We have been developing Access applications for about eight years here
under Novell server and had never had a problem due the Novell.
The biggest problem we had so far was trying to run Access applications
under Command Antivirus for Windows from v4.62.2 till current version.
We basically have to disable Dynamic Virus Protection or at least disable
scanning of network drives to get our applications running on the network
at acceptable speed with this antivirus program. If we left Command at
default settings, the antivirus program caused more problems then solved.
It sloweeed our Access applications to an absolute crawl while Command
Antivirus checked it for viruses. All our efforts to get some kind of a
patch to remedy this problem failed.
Command Software System, upgraded our version which had sped up Access
applications, however, the new version also stoped us from deleting any
network files at all. It just locked them completely and we could not
delete any files at all. So far we had no success with Command Software
System, therefore, if you need to develop any Access application for
network deployment stay away from Command Antivirus for Windows.
