Having compressed my (mdb) application into a flopy disc and then later
extracting it I can not make an MDE File.
Any reason?
Can anyone help, please?

Is the mdb otherwise functional? How are you trying to make the mde file?
What is the specific error message you're getting & when does it come up?

Is it possible that the file is tagged as "read only" for some reason?
Perhaps during the course of moving files from one media to another? I
don't know for sure if this even affects the process of coverting to an mde
file...but, it was the first thing that popped in my mind..."sounds like the
file is set to read only"

Yes, the mdb is otherwise O.K.
I was trying to make my MDE file following the very conventional way i.e.
Tools-Database Utilities-Make MDE File,
But the only message I am getting is;
"Microsoft Access was unable to create an MDE database".
And after pressing the O.K. button (the only option) only mdb starts.
Appreciating any help.

If you go to a code module, type a space and then backspace back over it,
and then do a Debug -> Compile, do you get any errors?
