access thread: access graphs

Message #1 by "Vladimir VRA09 Rakic" <vrakic@q...> on Sat, 27 Oct 2001 12:49:03 +1000
Hello everyone,

It's Saturday morning again and i am pulling out all my hair trying to set

up 2 graphs in Access. Can anyone explain to me how Access interprets the

data in queries ? My source data is currency, yet, despite even changing

the format in MS Graph datasheet, the displayed graph is still in Number

format (withouth the $ sign). The Period is in custom format mmm/yyyy (

eg. Jan/2001), but the graph still displays it as 1/1/2001 ???

Maybe i should just forget about MS Graph in Access and export data to

Excel ?

Thanks,

Vlad

I'm just going to take a wild-ass guess (WAG technique), since it's been a

long time since I've even looked at graphing in Access...

I suspect that somewhere on those graphs you have to specify the formats

for your values all over again. Your source data may be currency and a

custom-formatted date, but to the graph, it's just a number and a date,

and it'll use default formats until you tell it otherwise.

... AL
