access thread: Access 97 with Office 2000

We are in the process of updating some workstations to Office 2000.
However, they need to access databases created in Access 97 (we will not be
coverting them to 2000 because other workstations need to access them and
they continue to use Office 97). Our primary concern is with Merge letters
into Word 2000 from an Access 97 database, as well as concerns about .DLL
conflicts, etc. Has anyone had any (good or bad) experience with Access 97
and merge letters in Word 2000? What is your recommendation in this
situation? MS-knowledge base has some articles on DAO/Object referencing
that might have to be done, but no apparent compatibility issues. One
option is to have both Office 97 and 2000 installed on the new
workstations.
Any thoughts, comments, or personal experiences would be grateful.
Thanks,
Eric

Eric,
From my own experience, you need to have at least both Access 97 and Access
2000 installed on the same machine. There is a knowledge based article on
MS web site how to do this. Just another "fiddle" from wondeful world of
Microsoft....
