access thread: Form does not show detail when opened - only header and footer!!!

Message #1 by "Michaela" <lanmbran@h...> on Tue, 16 Oct 2001 12:24:14
Hi,

I was doing so well (so I thought), I had a header and a detail page which

opened nicely and then I decided to add some navigation buttons to my

footer - uh oh, now when I open the form it won't show me the middle

detail section, just the header and footer!

What have I clicked on? Does anyone have an idea of what I've done wrong?

Have you checked from the form properties what is the default view of your

form? If you can see all the items in designview but not when the form is

open, try changing your default view.

I am using Access 2000 and can't seem to find the "default" view under

form properties...... everything is visible in design view though, so I

haven't got a clue what I've done (or not done, as the case may be).

Hi Michaela,

Make sure report detail section is set to visible and not set to invisible

by accident.

1) Right click details section

2) Select Properties

3) Click Format Tab

4) Make sure that Visible option is set to Yes

Dear All,

Thanks for all your advice, I was really stumped. Do you want to know what

the problem was?? My footer width was set too high, so it was, in effect

covering up my detail section!! Wierd, huh? I'd have thought that MS would

have placed the emphasis on the detail rather than the header and footer!!

Thanks again,

Michaela
