access thread: Hiding Password as it's typed

Rather than using the security features built into Access so that users get
a message "access denied" when they try to open a form they are not allowed
to I prefer to ask them to "log in" to the login form that I create.
This form stays open in the background so that the userid is always
"visible" to Access.
From then on whenever they open another form what they see on the form
depends on what group (in a separate table) they belong to. It also allows
me to limit priniting barcodes to only users with barcode printers attached
to their machine etc.
(I use VBA to make buttons visible or not accordingly).
This all works very nicely apart from the initial login. When they type
their password it can be read on the screen. I've tried using webdings as
the font but it's not an elegant solution.
Does anyone know how to make what they type appear as ******** as it does in
the windows/network logins?
Regards
Richard Gibson

Make input mask for field on form "password" format (it's in the list of
types) - I assume you mean in Access 2000
