access thread: Error 3502

Message #1 by "Jacobs, Russell" <russell.jacobs@d...> on Wed, 20 Mar 2002 14:10:32 -0000
Hi Folks
I am running a rather large Access 2000 application on a Win 2000
computer, the application makes a number of ADO connections to an Oracle
server, using OLEDB. My problem is that every now and again, and seemingly
randomly, I get the following error reported:

Error 3052: File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile
Registry entry.

The error stops the file executing, but on clicking the OK, it carries on
running as if nothing has happened, and there seems to be no detrimental
effect on the data output. I know I could capture the fault through the
OnErrorEvent, but I would be interested if anybody else has had a similar
problem, and indeed how I can change the MaxLocksPerFile registry entry,
there seems to be no entry for this in my help files.

Thanking you in advance.

Cheers
Russell

Russell,

This sounds like it may be an Oracle issue. You may want to post this
on an
Oracle forum. I think you ma have a better chance of finding an answer
there.
