Dear Sir or Madam,
The database I have created in Access 97' is being used widely now accross
the company network. When the database is open it creates an ".idb" record
locking information. I have a module which allows me to open the database
after everyone has closed it out to see who the last person was to change
it.
What I would like is a database linked to the mine which I can open and
view who exactly is in the database, and the time they had it open, from
that I can get other info. Users sometime only view infomation, and others
change it.
Don't know if the linked database is the best, any ideas will do
Please help.

The following should be of benefit
ACC97: How to Read .LDB Files (Q186304)
[ beware of the word wrap ]
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q186304
The dynamic link library Msldbusr.dll contains functions that enable you to do the following:
View all computers that have logged into a database since the .ldb file was created.
View only computers that are currently logged into a database.
View computers that are causing a database file to be corrupted.
View the count of computers logged into a database.
Msldbusr.dll is part of the Jetutils.exe file.
