access thread: Which way is up?

Message #1 by "Gregory Serrano" <SerranoG@m...> on Thu, 25 Jul 2002 13:11:53
Here's a question to what should be a simple answer, but I'm not seeing
it. Perhaps I need a vacation. :)

I have a label to which I set the .Vertical property to True. The label
does run vertically, but from top to bottom with the bottom of the words
facing left. How do I get the little bugger to run vertically from bottom
to top with the bottom of the words facing right? It seems to me that it
should be a another property setting but I don't see one.

As far as I know it can't be done in Access.

Sure you can. Create it in the US and read it from Australia! Grin.

Greg, I have on my computer a font called "Aachen Vertical". if you use this font
with 'vertical' property switched to 'Yes', the label displays like this:

T
H
I
S

W (The letters are justified properly, not like this example)
A
Y

U
P

However, if you leave 'vertical' switched to 'No', the label displays in the way you want.
Just one thing, you have to type the caption in backwards in this case!
I can send you this font if it helps.
Regards, Wesley Kendrick

Found this when looking for something else and thought of your problem. I
have not tried it but it might be what you are looking for. Give it a shot.
