access thread: Searching Records Too Slow

Message #1 by "enZo :-\)" <enzaux@g...> on Tue, 30 Jul 2002 17:09:47 +0800
Hello ! ! ! I have 146,726 records on my Tranx Table. Are the number of records already a factor to slowdown searching of
records? (usually it tooks more than 10 seconds over the network, we have a 100 mbps network card installed)

Thanks,

Enzo

Is this an Access table? How are you searching? Is this Access 2000? Are
you running Norton Antivirus on either the Client or Server machines?
There are lots of reasons for a slow search, including the number of
records.

The program is running on win2000, office 2000, norton antivirus installed. They (end users) told me that before it was working
out fine when the records are still on 140000. Since there was a error "unrecognized database format" the searching becomes too
slow. I was not the one who made the program

Thanks,

Enzo
