access thread: Auto-magically Resize Reports?

This is for all of you seasoned international developers of reports.
I have a database with 60+ reports set in Portrait and Landscape
presentations with paper size of 8 1/2" x 11" (standard for U.S.).
When I deploy this internationally, the users' paper size is 8" x 11 1/2"
(A4?). Just enough difference to really aggravate you.
Without touching every report object and resize page size, controls and
margins, is there an auto-magical way to change the settings for each report
object? Even through printer settings and then still, not receive the
message that "the page width extends yahda yahda yahda..."
Any input is appreciated!

Maybe you could write a conversion utility that modifies all the reports and
changes the margins?
or maybe your app comes with a few reams of paper free of charge LOL to
order more see the website ; )

LOL! Or maybe in *your* spare time you could write the conversion utility
and forward for testing?!?!? I'm too busy using wizards! :)
Buried in paper..

If you design all your reports to fit on an imaginary 8in x 11in sheet
with
a 1/2 in margin on each edge (report space 7in x 10in), then it should
fit
either US Std (8 1/2 x 11) . or ISO (A4) size paper. You'll just have
a
slightly larger top/bottom margin with the ISO paper or a slightly
larger
left/right margin with the US standard paper.

Thanks Rand, but I was looking for something that would still hold my
margin
values, just reduce the report width. Reporting is one of the areas
where
our clients want precision.
Can you believe it? :)

The problem is that you have to deal with many individual objects
within the
report. Many of them will have to be resized and/or relocated in the
process. There is no EASY way to do it.

Exactly. That's my dilemma, the objects, as well as margins and paper
size.
*sigh* Looks like overtime for someone! :)

I have created dynamic reports in code, as described in the Access97
developers handbook. I had to do this because the number of columns is never
known. It works great, but requires a lot of time and effort to get it
right. I copy a template, (which is an existing partial report). If I had to
create reports for different sized papers I would investigate dynamic
reports and templates again; but only after failing to find an easier
solution on every access forum in the universe.
