access thread: RUN TIME ERROR 3146

Message #1 by "Lonnie@P... on Thu, 19 Sep 2002 13:03:57 -0700 (PDT)
Hello all,

I am using an MS Access 97 form to add new records to an SQL Server 2000 table. The table is linked to the Access front end. Every
now and then, the users will get...

Run-Time Error 3146 odbc failed.

Not all the time, just some time. It can happen to any user.

Its like their connection is lost. I can refresh the link to the table and try to save the record, but we still get the message.

If is open another instance of the application, and try to write to the same table from the same form, it will work in the second
application, but still not in the first one.

I appeal to all the Access/SQL Server gurus for guidance.

Thanks Andrew, I saw that. This is in reference to UPDATE and DELETING. My situation occurs when ADDING (appending or add new).
Thanks again.
