During imports of textfiles into access, access automatically creates an error table when any conversion
problems occur. This is fine, but this increases the databse by a few Mbytes each time this occurs. How can i
get back to the original size? I've already tried deleting the error table.

You can also set Access to Compact and Repair automatically
Tools/Options/General/Compact on Close
