Someone please help me out.

I am using MS Access and VC++ 6.0 

My program checks for a field value and gets the entire the record. Its 
working well when the first record is a valid field name.But when the 
first field name that is checked is a invalid field name, the error 
"Attempt to scroll past end or beginning of file" is prompted and it 
crashes.
