access_asp thread: Wierd problem with ASP dates\regional settings

Message #1 by mark.picton@g... on Thu, 8 Aug 2002 11:09:25
I'm trying to get my XPPro Web Server to accept ASP dates for an Access
2000 database in the format dd/mm/yyyy. I've tried to follow the advice
at http://www.adopenstatic.com/faq/systemdateformat.asp ie: Control
Panel| Regional and Langauge Options|Advanced and Check the 'Default user
account settings'. However, after checking and exitting the screen - if I
return the option remains unchecked. I'm logged on as the default admin
user and am able to change other settings on the Regional and Langauge
Options control panel applet. Is there something in IIS that may be
preventing me from doing this?

Anyone any ideas at all?

www.adopenstatic.com/faq/dateswithaccess.asp
explains that there are other problems with Access :-)

Basically you are stuck with using: yyyy-mm-dd or yyyy/mm/dd or mm/dd/yyyy

That checkbox doesn't stay "checked" - you check to tell WindowsXP that you
want to apply what ever you've just set to the default user's settings. Next
time you go in, you can check it again to apply any subsequent changes.

Cheers
Ken

Thanks Ken - strange choice by MS to have a checkbox that is really just
an Apply now button.
