If one has ten ASP-Access applications on a server, all identical except 
for the data, is there a great difference in efficiency and server load 
between running one big database vs. ten little ones?

Obviously there is a big difference in ease of maintenance to have just 
one big database ... but I was wondering about the load aspect.
