I am new to .net & sure new to ado.net, want to ask some stupid question
here, wish could get reply.
If the SQL Server (or other db product) fully supports XML data input &
output, then seems the ASP.net can omit the ado.net and directly talk to
sql server with XML. Then what is the position of ado.net ?
And to other win forms client, they also can make directly talk to sql
server with XML, then seems ado.net is something good to heard but will
not be used anymore ?
Is there someone can help me to know the ado.net in idealy more ?
Thanks.

support of asp.net to xml in scalable web and desktop application is only
participatory. without using ado.net it is hard to achieve the full
functionality and db scalability. ado.net have been integrated with the
fully support of xml, also the asp.net app use ado to talk with your db
