Hi 
  Em using JDK1.2.2 and Tomcat 4.1.18 versions. I have installed Tomcat 4 
on jdk1.2.2 and also set JAVA_HOME=C:\JDK1.2.2, CATALINA_HOME=C:\JDK1.2.2
\TOMCAT 4.1 AND CLASSPATH=%CATALINA_HOME%\BIN

Still my tomcat is not running. It is displaying on the dos window once 
and disappars. Any one could help me out of this problem as this is very 
urgent. Or else if anyone have yahoo id , can come online to discuss 
about..

Are you sure that your CATALINA_HOME is correct?

i pressume it should be something like

CATALINA_HOME=c:\jdk1.2.2\jakarata-tomcat-4.1.18

or did you rename the folder to

tomcat4.1??

basically its something to do with your CATALINA_HOME  for sure?
if you dont see errors in your log files.

Hi,
     Do the follwoing steps.
1. Place a pause statement in the batch file. The dos window will not go.
2. Just set the JAVA_HOME and let the startup script set the CATALINA.. and
other variables.

Delete all the log files before starting Tomcat.

Hope this will solve your problem.
