asp_cdo thread: Problem in sending e-mails

Friends,
we are using windows2000 with SMTP Service installed.While working in
ASP, we are getting the object CDONTS.newmail working but the mail is not
being sent to the specified address.
Could some one help me out...

Have you add the target domain in your SMTP server?

What does happen? Does the mail remain in the pick-up directory of the SMTP
service? Does an error occur?
Check that your SMTP service is properly installed and send us your code so
we can have a look at what you're doing.
