I am having this proble as well ! i am however able to send to external
addresses such as Yahoo and hotmail but not within my LAN.Is this your
situation too?

sounds like the smtp service is not running. As for it not send messages
internal to the Lan it sounds like a firewall maybe be hampering the
situation. I have my smtp service using my mail server to deliver the mail
and it compensates for this issue.

You have to check your DSN.
