asp_cdo thread: can anyone recommend a smtp mail server

can anyone plz recommend me a smtp mail server otherthan exchange. i want
to make my cdonts email work. i am using win2k prof server.
waiting anxiously for a reply

CDONTS works only with the Windows NT 4 IIS 4 SMTP Service (comes with
the NT 4 Option Pack) or Windows 2000 Server IIS 5 SMTP Service (built
into the core product - no option pack required).
If you want to use a remote SMTP server other than the NT4/2000 SMTP
Server than resort to CDOSYS which has the built-in ability to submit
messages to any SMTP server of your choice (like NT-Mail and others).

CDONTS is *NOT* an SMTP Server. It is a COM component that can be used
to submit SMTP formatted message to the Microsoft IIS4/5 SMTP Server.

That's right, and it can only be used with IIS4/5 SMTP Server.
