asp_cdo thread: SV: RE: SV: RE: CDONTS not sending messages...
You tell them to do like this. In the IIS SMTP properties, you put in your
Exhange server IP-adress, and then the support guys has to permit SMTP from
your WEBserver in the DMZ to the Exhange server inside the firewall.. Very
simple.. :)

Can you expand on this? Exactly what should I be telling the support guys
to do?
We have an Exchange server inside the firewall which sends messages to the
outside world, presumably through some kind of gateway in the DMZ. The web
server resides in the DMZ. Can the SMTP service of the web server send
messages directly to the mail gateway, or do the messages have to come back
though the firewall to the exchange server?
(As a developer I expect this stuff to just work, but when the support guys
don't know how to fix it, what else can I do except try to find out for
myself?)

Yes, you have to permit SMTP (port 25) truogh the firewall (DMZ) , and if
you have put in a smarthost you has to permit SMTP to that server from the
DMZ!
