I am trying to write some basic ADO scripts to summarize resources on

specific URL's., as outlined in Chapter 8 of ADO 2.5



The Microsoft Internet Provider, supposedly came with MDAC 2.5 (I have

MDAC

2.6 installed) and above, but I could never find any

evidence of it on the drive or in the registry.



I downloaded WebFldrs.cab ( for IE 5 ) which has the MSDAIPP.dll file, and

I extracted and placed it in the Common File\System\Ole Db\... subdir, but

the scripts still error out saying the Provider does

not exist.



I registered the DLL and created a sample .UDL file.



The Internet Provider appeared on the Provider List but when I set up a

connection and attempted to test it, I got an error



Error Initializing Provider  ( unknown error )



I have looked far and wide for some sort of 'installation' help, but found

nothing. Can you point out what I am missing.
