Hi I am a programmer who would like to do the exercises in the book but I
am having trouble setting up my envirionment.
My Environment
Intranet environment with the server running NT4 server and my computer
running NT4 workstation. I can not access the server set up info as this
is controlled by the ops guys.
What I would like to do
I would like to set my own client server system on my computer using (PWS
or IIS or windows 2000) both (SQL Server 7, MSaccess databases) and ie5.5
so I can do the exercises in the book.
What I have going
I have PWS up and running
I have ie5.5
I have copied the MS access .mdb files from Wrox to my computer
I have copied the code files from Wrox to my computer
I have set up the DSN's for the MSaccess databases
What is not running
SQL Server on my computer seems to point to the exe on the server.
Converting MSaccess .mbd files to SQL Server
Have ie5.5 look at my machine not the intranet
I have my own copy of windows 2000. If I installed this on my computer
would it upset the system?
