asp_database_setup thread: cannot make db connections!!!

I am no longer able to make any sort of a connection (dsn,dsn-less) to ANY
access db on my machine. This is the error im recieving.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open
registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x52c Thread 0x700
DBC 0x208bffc Jet'.
please help im losing my mind.

A simple search on MSDN for "0x80004005" yields many results.. like #6 on
the list...

If you installed Crystal Reports 8.. which you don't mention.. you might
want to check out item #3 on the search result...

If neither of these work, go to MSDN and try it yourself- you might just
find the answer without losing your mind...
