Thanks for your response, it was very helpful, although after all the reading I've done I think I 

now know less now than before.



Some questions:



It seems to me like we don't have the necessary versions of MDAC on our server; if that is so, 

how is it that we can open connections using MS Front Page?



If we load MDAC 2.6 SDK, will we still have to make adjustments of setting the correct 

permissions on the correct key in the system registry?
