asp_databases thread: How do I connect to MySQL database?

Hi,
Could anybody give any clues as to how to connect to MySQL database running
on ChiliSoft ASP on RedHat Linux?
The versions of the software that I've installed are as follows:
MySQL Version - 3.22.32-1
RedHat Linux Version - 6.0
ChiliSoft Trial ASP Version
Apache version - 1.3.6

Sorry for posting this in the ASP list but . . .
Is there any reason you're using Chilisoft's ASP rather than the free PHP
that is included on the RedHat Linux you have? The scripts are VERY
SIMILAR. You can even configure the Linux server to accept the <%..%>
rather than the standard <?php..?> or <?..?> tags. Some of the switchs
are different but WROX has just published a nice book on PHP and there are
several other publishers starting to support this scripting language.

All I know is, there is no development tools that comes close to visual
studio to develope php applications. At least not that I'm aware of.
