I got a thing called "MSDE" on an Access 2000 Upgrade disk, which basically

behaves like SQL Server Personal Edition.  It's most of the functionality of

SQL Server but it's with an Access front end.

I am not au fae with SQL Server myself, but from what you ask I infer that

you mean a desktop edition for Windows 9.x



This being the case I can tell you that you can get a copy of this with the

book 'VB Guide to e-commerce with ASP and SQL-Server' by Noel Jerke.  I

don't have the ISBN to hand but I can tell you that Sybex are the

publishers.
